As you may know through a quick online search, there are estimates of the average cost of a single RFI and change during construction, and the average numbers of RFI's and changes on various project types in a given locale. The value proposition I have for my clients is this: for a fraction of that average total expense, on most projects I can find, fix, and investigate a significant number of errors and inconsistencies, which often are "early-warning" indicators of trouble.
